Mary is a senior HR executive with global experience in life sciences and biotech. She possesses a proven track record as a strategic leader, building high-performance teams, scaling companies through growth, driving transformational change and creating people centric cultures that deliver strong business results. Mary is a collaborative business partner whose strengths include organization development and design, strategic planning, executive and board compensation, executive coaching and talent management. She is an accountable, transparent and performance driven leader, an innovative problem solver, a caring and thoughtful business partner possessing strong work ethic and integrity.
Mary has an extensive and accomplished background in human resources, specializing in both early-stage and established biopharmaceutical companies. Commencing as Celgene Corporation’s first Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO). During her time at Celgene, Mary was instrumental in the company’s growth globally, building Celgene’s organizational capability throughout 85 countries, 3 acquisitions, and 5 marketing approvals. Mary went on to build other early-stage biotech companies including Aegerion Pharmaceuticals, named as “Boston Globes Top Places to Work”, Edge Therapeutics and most recently Chief People Officer for ProKidney from 2022 to July 2024.
Mary is the founder and principal of PPC Human Capital, an HR consulting firm focused on building organizational capability, acting as Interim CHRO in early-stage life science companies scaling through each companies’ maturation and growth as well as a coach and mentor to newly appointed Heads of HR. Some consulting assignments include Bit Bio, HR Consultant, VectivBio, commuting to Switzerland monthly for three years and then coaching/mentorship for new Swiss based Head of HR until VectivBio was acquired by Ironwood, AutoIus, UK based, mentored newly appointed Head of HR, In8Bio, HR Consultant and Avalo Therapeutics, Interim CHRO.
Mary earned her M.A., Human Resource Manager from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a Master’s Certificate, Six Sigma - Black Belt, from Villanova University. She is also a graduate of the University of Michigan’s Executive Human Resource Program. In addition, Mary is E.Q Certified.
Mary is available as Interim CHRO and HR consulting services, Coach/Mentor for newly appointed CHRO’s as well as assuming a Full time Chief People Officer role.
